1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Flip.Gift ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Description of Service
Flip.Gift is a free peer-to-peer gift card exchange. Users submit gift cards they no longer want and are matched with other users whose cards they want. Every card is manually verified by an operator before entering the matching pool. The Platform does not take custody of funds, does not charge fees, and does not act as a buyer or seller — only as a matching intermediary.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that your use of the Platform is lawful in your jurisdiction.
4. Account Registration
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You may not share your account, allow others to access it, or operate multiple accounts. One person, one account.
5. Gift Card Submissions
When submitting a gift card, you represent that: - You are the lawful owner of the card. - The card was not obtained through fraud, theft, or any illegal activity. - The declared balance is accurate at the time of submission. - You will not spend, modify, or share the card balance after submission. Cards that fail verification are rejected and result in reputation penalties. Repeated violations lead to account suspension or permanent ban.
6. Exchange Process
Exchanges are facilitated through an automated matching engine. Hard matches (value difference ≤3%) are processed automatically. Soft matches (3–15% difference, widening over time) require approval from both sides. Before any final exchange, the operator re-checks both card balances. Once both sides approve and re-check passes, card codes are revealed to both parties simultaneously. The exchange is then final.
7. Fees
The Platform is completely free. There are no subscription fees, no commissions on individual swaps, and no paid tiers. All features are available to all users at no cost. The Platform is funded by the founding team.
8. Trust Tiers & Swap Limits
To protect users from first-time fraud, new accounts are subject to a face-value cap on their very first swap. After a successful first swap, the cap expands to the Platform maximum. We reserve the right to adjust these tiers at any time to maintain safety.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You may not: - Submit stolen, counterfeit, or fraudulently obtained gift cards. - Modify, spend, or share a card balance after submission. - Create multiple accounts (including via proxies, VPNs, or alternate devices) to circumvent limits or evade bans. - Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, or manipulate the matching or anti-fraud systems. - File false dispute claims, including “victim-framing” tactics (draining your own card after an exchange to falsely accuse the other party). - Use the Platform for money laundering, tax evasion, or any illegal activity. Violations result in permanent bans and may be reported to relevant authorities.
10. Disputes & Resolution
After a swap completes, you have a limited window to report a bad card through the dispute system. Reports filed within the window are reviewed by human admins who pull the full history of both accounts, re-check both card balances, and weigh multiple signals before deciding. Confirmed fraud results in a permanent ban for the guilty party. Swaps are not disputable after the window closes. Filing a false dispute can result in a ban on the reporter. In some cases, confirmed victims may receive a goodwill gift card from our prize pool, decided at our sole discretion.
11. Anti-Fraud Measures
The Platform runs automated and manual anti-fraud checks, including device and network fingerprinting, duplicate-account detection, card-code deduplication, and pattern analysis. Specific detection methods are confidential. We reserve the right to block matches, freeze accounts, and issue bans based on these signals. We will not disclose the specifics of our detection stack to users, disputants, or banned users.
12. Reputation System
Users maintain a reputation score (0–100%). Failed verifications, failed re-checks, and confirmed disputes reduce reputation. Users below certain thresholds face reduced limits or are flagged for manual review. Reputation is visible on public profiles.
13. Referral Program
Users may invite others via a personal referral link. When a referred user completes their first swap, the referral is marked as completed. At every milestone of completed referrals, the referrer receives a small gift card from our referral prize pool. Rewards are drawn from stock uploaded by the Platform — quantity and brand are at our discretion. No cash equivalents, no guarantees of any specific reward.
14. Weekly Giveaway
Each Sunday at 18:00 UTC, a random user with at least one completed swap is selected to receive a gift card from the giveaway prize pool. Winners are notified via email and publicly listed. No purchase necessary; eligibility is limited to users with at least one successfully completed swap and good standing.
15. Data Security
Card data (numbers and PINs) is encrypted using AES-256-CBC at rest. Card details are only decrypted for authorized verification purposes and for delivery to matched users upon swap completion. Card codes are never sent via email. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Authentication uses HTTP-only cookies with short-lived session tokens.
16. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the validity of gift cards after an exchange. We are not responsible for any loss resulting from card misuse by third parties, matching delays, or verification errors. Our maximum liability to you under any claim is limited to $0 — the Platform is free, takes no custody of funds, and operates no insurance fund. By using the Platform, you accept these limits.
17. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, exhibit fraudulent behavior, have critically low reputation, or appear to be operated by the same person as another banned account. Active swap requests may be cancelled upon termination. Banned accounts forfeit all pending rewards, referrals, and giveaway eligibility.
18. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be announced on the homepage for at least 7 days before taking effect.
19. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Disputes not resolved through our internal process shall be resolved through binding arbitration or small-claims court, at our option. You agree to waive any right to a class action.
